A PHYSICAL EDUCATION REVOLUTION IS STARTING IN MY COUNTY
We have been working on investor presentations in 2024 but had to compliment & support the Physical Education Revolution that has started to take place in my home County, was it started by me ? No It was started by the people who trained me, all I did was give it a push, pass on their enthusiasm & advise town & clubs & best ways to incorporate it into daily routine, Its up to others to decide but It doesn't matter, the most important thing is that people are walking more, jogging more, cycling more & leaving car in driveway when not needed, sports participation is up in the under 7's and the over 35's with more memberships & money going straight back into local community. All the major sports clubs in & around the town have started to take their fate into their own hands & bring their clubs & communities into 21st Century Active sport & leisure clubs with everything but a swimming pool & should now look to include a swimming pool discount into their memberships in conjunction with local Council run pool.
The credit must not go to physicaleducation.net but the people who trained me & the Honourable men & Women that started those clubs & continue to run them to this day with their Son's & Daughters continuing their previous hard work, everyone should volunteer at some stage of life & give back to the community that helped raise them. In my own clubs case the credit must be given to Liam, Joe, Davey, Robbie, Dukey, Mel (Rip), Christy, Paul & the many more deserving to see the fruits of their labour over the last 30 years, the ticket sellers, coaches, ground & bar staff are all needed & it takes many characters to form a strong club, every character is needed as there are times you need light hearted bar staff jokers & time for serious strong decision makers, reserved groundsmen & tenacious laborers that never give up until tasks are complete no matter how hard.

In 2015 I Sent a season long program to practically every club in County with many of those clubs now seeing the fruits from that plan now or previously & a handful in particular who got specific detailed training sessions from 1st to last hard session of season, 3 weeks before their semi finals including my own club who used my detailed sessions to increase their own high standard sessions by a few %. However it all adds up & its no coincidence the 3 clubs I gave the detailed sessions to won an intermediate, Junior, Senior & yes even an All Ireland ladies with. I was only delighted to see them winning & if my programs helped even 1% which they clearly did I'm only happy to have pushed them along as all except 1 are all former clubs of mine in some capacity & because they treated me well, karma came back to help them almost a decade later. They are outdated now but in 2015 they were sessions ahead of the curve & hot property. Karma always comes back to help when you treat people well, the ladies got the program bally_______ should have got who unfortunately underpaid me previously & still owe me 150 quid as they treated my colleague very well when he trained them so they made their own luck & got a lucky program which helped their ladies win an All Ireland. I recently informed James G & Alan H I'd be mentioning them in this article.
They also Implemented a system which I'd recommend to every club where by the Men & Women trained at same time which increases chances of higher turn outs as I said to Mr Mahon. Its the same in life the harder you work & nicer you are the luckier you get although on the pitch you must be ruthless in order to win, off it if you & your club treat people well & fairly then karma will come back to help you down the line. They all made their won luck by treating me & my former colleague well the previous decade when we trained them & he made his own luck by going the extra mile charming me that night got extremely lucky but I'm sure he deserved it, treat a 100 trainers well & one of them will give you an all Ireland winning Program, good luck to him & his winning ladies team.
Out of them all Alan's club & my own club implemented the best Gym & walking track around pitch as Alans club did did which makes all the difference to increasing memberships. Exercise should be a social activity & people should try & do 2 things at once, the reality is some of these elderly club members prioritise watching a game instead of going for a walk, they should be able to do both & like me they have strong voices that can be heard from Clubhouse by forward more than a full pitch away if they wanted to. We could stand at clubhouse & roar on our team like everyone else & they'd easily hear us, walk around the pitch and encourage your players the same as you would in stand & get fit while doing so. Its a major advantage sports clubs have over gyms. Many times I seen sports club members & other 0ver 60 men go to gym & watch a game on TV while walking treadmill when he would prefer to be walking round his own pitch clapping & encourage players he mentored.

Get your mate & go for a walk around pitch or do it alone if you prefer between 6.30pm & 9.30pm to get your laps in while also being entertained & able to encourage players to give their all, do your weights after these laps which you'll now be fully warmed up for. In 2015 I also gave my own club & many more this exact walking program routine to increase membership while they could listen to coach on field train his players & possibly hear the fitness coach give tips or cheer them on & for a couple of months I did my own laps around outside of pitch at training & games as it was best time & good for time management as agreed with Assistant manager Robbie that I might come back into the senior panel, I could have been sitting on bench if I wanted to but I told him I had to access my own fitness first & how my body would train & react to an intercostal muscle injury still off the bone to this day first so I'd run around outside of pitch during training & games & naturally I cheered them on in games the same as I would if watching from clubhouse railing.
To be honest I didn't have time to get back involved & decided I didn't need the hassle but had to exercise like everyone else in life so I was just accessing my own fitness and body reactions to running with injury while matches & training was on as agreed with Robbie, the manager was told who I was & had met him previously about the possibility of training with or helping him train the team & or encourage with fitness tips etc. We all knew I wasn't realistically going to play full game but there was always a possibility of coming on as a sub for last 5 mins in a few games when match fit. The manager had no problem with it & had my contact details as I had to tell one man that approached me halfway though a game. He hadn't a clue what I was doing & should of politely asked as I'd been a member 30 years, giving that team a premiership program condensed into amateur format. The point I'm trying to make is that you & I lead very busy lives & the only possible time you & I can get a good workout in is by doing 2-3 things at once & cheering our team on at same time. If anyone misunderstands what you're doing just direct them to this article but don't stop cheering on your team & or exercising simultaneously once its outside of railings like me its fine. Its the reason why most clubs have & will continue to build walking tracks around main pitch & as I advised some clubs to buy cheap weights to get the gym off the ground again best used from 6.30 to 9.30pm when club is busy for the social side of it.
In summary many clubs have taken my advice in 2015 & implemented walking tracks around main pitch & referbushing their clubhouses to accommodate for a few small weights to start off their gyms which increases their membership, helps community increasing support for their players at training and games as playing infront of more people, walkers or not helps teams overall sports psychology & prepares them for championship days. Players should be able to block out the opposition crowd & take on the positive encouragement of their own supporters which prepares them for pressure atmospheres in championship matches when all sorts are shouted at them, which they should be practicing blocking out to focus on their own game. I'm delighted to see all the clubs in & around my County starting a physical education revolution & increasing the revenue for their clubs, & some even have a qualified instructor giving up his time for free to help build gym up gradually while their members leave their cars at home to cycle & run to games & training sessions to lead happier healthier lives while being entertained by great sport & effort from the best youngsters in the County. Don't forget to do your walking/jogging first & then use clubhouse gym or indeed bring your own small weights, ball, to kick around after while doing your press ups, squats, lunges etc in quiet unused area of club after you've roared your team on to victory in a match instead of sitting at home adding calories while watching the sport on tv. Get down & support your local team with a workout thrown in whenever you can.
ill never forget this 3-3 soccer game i happened to come across on a cycle one day in Scotland while I didnt walk around pitch I could not take my eyes off this under 16 amateur game, I'd been to old trafford many times & seen many boring 0-0 draws between United & Liverpool or who ever on tv but sometimes, infact most of the time you will enjoy supporting your local free club more where you can sample the passion & intensity of the crowd and players & now with all the walking tracks & gyms overlooking pitches in club you can get a work out in also knowing your money will go back into local community & help youngsters develop to their full potential. I was supposed to watch a Man Utd or Liverpool game that day but im delighted I couldn't leave the end to end under 16, 3-3 boys game even though it was raining the entertainment was far better and the celebrations & smiles on the faces of both teams & supporters despite lashing rain is something ill never forget on a pitch you would think had sheep on it the day before, beats liverpool V man utd any day which I easily watched boring highlights of later that night. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL CLUB, VOLUNTEER, CONTRIBUTE, BECOME A MEMBER & USE PAY AS YOU GO GYMS OR MONTH LONG CONTRACTS WHEN NEEDED & DONT EVER STOP EXERCISING.
